VYPE: How long have you played soccer? What first got you interested in the sport?
Nate McClaren: I have played soccer for 13 years. Kicking the ball around and learning tricks as a kid got me interested into soccer.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for your high school?
NM: My favorite memory in high school soccer was upsetting Union last year in a 1-0 win.
VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?
NM: My dreams of playing professional soccer motivate me every day to work hard.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against? If so, why?
NM: My favorite opponent to compete against is Edison because some of my closest teammates from club play on that team.
VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?
NM: My teammates mean family and brotherhood to me.
VYPE: What song hypes you up before a game?
NM: “8am in Charlotte” by Drake is what hypes me up before games.
VYPE: What is your go to post-game meal?
NM: My go to post-game meal is chicken alfredo.
VYPE: Who do you look to as a role model and why?
NM: I look up to my club coach, Chris Taylor, as my role model because of the culture he has built inside my club team and helped my team grow as players as well as amazing people.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
NM: My plans after high school are to pursue a degree while playing soccer at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
