SAND SPRINGS SANDITES

Coach: ERIC SAVAGE

20-6

OUTLOOK

It’s hard to believe coach Eric Savage has been at the helm of the Charles Page basketball program for 12 seasons, but that’s a fact anyone who competes against the Sandites for over a decade can certainly attest to. Coach Savage graduated several seniors off the 20-win team but does return two Top 100 nominees.

“Graduated six seniors in 2025 who played the majority of minutes last season. Will be new faces who will lead us this year. Program guys who have been on varsity, just waiting their turn. Looking for breakout years from seniors Micah Betchan, Kruz Smith, Teric Smith and newcomer David Price. Look for these guys to make some noise this season,” coach Savage said.

Micah Betchan (Sr.) and Kruz Smith (Sr.) are two guards who saw action last season with the pair averaging 2.8 and 4.6 points per game respectively. Both have played at the varsity level for three years and will lead the team after having great summers. Betchan currently holds offers from Ottawa University and Tabor College.

Teric Smith (Sr.) is another guard who appears ready for a breakout season. Coach Savage said Smith continues to improve his game.

“Teric has been our hardest worker and most improved player the last three years. Has earned a starting leadership role for us. Will be one of our best overall players,” coach Savage said.

David Price (Sr.), Ge’Vari Hill (Sr.) and Tre Pope (Sr.) round out the seniors on the team. Price could be a real factor for the Sandites on the court as he works to find his place and role on the team. Also look for Grady Harris (Jr.) at forward. Harris, alongside Cael Knight (So.) are the two post players the Sandites will need to step up in a big way this season.

Zerick Walker (Jr.) is a guard who continues to improve and is looking to give the team quality minutes when his number is called. Hunter Hoffman (Fr.) is an exciting guard who enters the varsity ranks known as an athletic guard and a clutch three-point shooter. Hoffman had some big games for the Sandites over the summer.

It should be an exciting year for the Sandites. Follow them on social media @Sandite_hoops or on Facebook at Sandite_boys_basketball.
