Sand Springs Sandites – Football Team Preview – Presented by Eric Davidson, State Farm Insurance Agent

SAND SPRINGS SANDITES

Coach: BOBBY KLINCK

8-4

OFFENSE

As the Sandites enter the new season, head coach Bobby Klinck has an experienced roster and a quarterback who measurers up against any other QB in the state. “We are returning a core group. We had a good run last year and we need to take the next step,” said coach Klinck. Easton Webb (6-4, 215, Sr.) has the arm to fire the ball downfield and the legs to get out of trouble. Webb may be the most college ready QB in Oklahoma. Dom Forbes (6-1, 190, Jr.) is one of the go-to targets in the passing game. Arguably one of the top receivers in the class, Forbes stock continues to rise as coaches at the next level take notice. Another target in the passing game is Tristian Birmingham (6-1, 185, Jr.). Like Forbes, Birmingham will pressure opposing defenses who dare to single cover him in the passing game. Shawn Hatcher (6-2, 225, Sr.) is a versatile player who can play on the offensive line and at tight end. His size and athleticism make him a tough matchup for linebackers. Also look for Michael Moore (6-2, 260, Sr.) in the trenches. Expect the Sandites to utilize the run to set up the passing game.

DEFENSE

With seven returning starters to the defensive side of the ball, the Sandites are poised to have a solid season on defense. Joe Farmer (5-10, 175, Jr.) and Alex Dudley (6-0, 170, Sr.) are both back at safety. Farmer and Dudley anchor the secondary for the Sandites in the 4-2-5 scheme the defense will utilize this season. Farmer could see time on offense. Waylon Jeffers (6-1, 270, Sr.) will start in the interior of the defensive line giving the defense someone who can move the line of scrimmage. Also look for Grady Harris (6-3, 215, Jr.) at end. Harris has the size and speed to be a real problem off the edge. Isaac Sensintaffer (5-9, 180, Sr.) joins Farmer and Dudley in the secondary at strong safety giving the Sandites another heavy hitter in the secondary. Emory Smittick (5-9, 180, Sr.) brings experience and leadership to the linebacker spot. His play will help set the tone for the defense. The Sandites of Charles Page High School will play an aggressive, fast defense looking to take advantage of any mistakes made by the opposing offense.
