Sands & Glenpool off to Quick Start – Presented by RibCrib

In only his second season at the helm of the Warriors baseball program, head coach Dylan Thurber has the Warriors off to a nice start to the 2025 baseball season.

After finishing well under .500 last year, the Warriors are focused, playing well and continue to build team chemistry and find their identity as a team and program thanks to coach Thurber.

“This is my second year as the head coach. We are coming off a 9-23 season returning six starters this year. The team has a good mix of upperclassmen that were a part of the program last year along with a lot of young talent in the freshman and sophomore classes,” said Thurber.

One player the Warrior faithful will know is pitcher Denim Sands. Sands is a senior this season and coach Thurber said Sands is playing like a next-level player.

“Denim is a senior that is committed to play at Eastern Oklahoma State College next season. He received all district honors last year and looks to continue that trend with another great season. Denim plays 1B and is a LHP on our staff. He’s a hard-working young man that loves the game of baseball,” said coach Thurber.

Going into spring break, the Warriors are 7-4 with wins over Edison, Catoosa, Perkins-Tryon, Oologah, and Cleveland. Looming on the schedule are big games on the road at Berryhill, North Rock Creek, Locust Grove, Mannford, Dewar and Cushing. Remaining homes games include Bristow, Beggs, Cushing, Cave Springs, Mannford, North Rock Creek, Metro Christian, Sperry and Edison.
