SAPULPA CHIEFTAINS

Coach: TIM HOLT JR.

5-7

OFFENSE
When the Sapulpa Chieftains take the field this season, the experience level will be up and head coach Tim Holt Jr. believes this group has matured into a solid football team. “Lots of returning players on both sides of the ball from a young team a year ago. Nine returners on defense as well as six on offense,” said coach Holt. After a good spring, coach Holt and the staff are eager to get back on the field. Braddox Broughton (6-1, 200, Jr.) threw for 1,502 yards with 17TDs last season as a sophomore. His return bring continuity to the offense. Running back Levi Jensen (5-10, 195, Sr.) rushed for 725 yards and 10 scores while sharing the role with another back. Jensen is poised to have a big year. Wide receivers Jaxon Stone (5-10, 180, Sr.) and AJ Moton (6-2, 170, Jr.) are ready to prove they are among the top WRs in the class. Stone had nine receptions for 215 yards two TDs last year, while Moton had 168 yards on six receptions and two scores. Both are expected to see more action this year. The offensive line features Jarret Hammer (6-3, 300, Sr.) and Thomas Lopez (6-3, 295, Jr.). “We are a spread team who will rely heavily on what we think is a great running back group and a very big OL,” said coach Holt.

DEFENSE

DeShon Koch – Senior – Sapulpa High School

Players like Stone and Moton will go both ways playing in the secondary for the defense. Stone never leaves the field and is a boundary corner who can lock down one side of the field. Edge rusher DeShon Koch (6-3, 230, Sr.) is a beast to contain. Koch made 74 tackles with eight sacks and three fumble recoveries last year as a junior. Koch is a key player in the 3-man front the Chieftains will base the defense in this season. Sequoyah Hall (6-1, 200, Sr.) is an outside linebacker who can come off the edge or drop in pass coverage. Hall is an athletic player who made 59 tackles and five sacks in 2024. The voice of the defense is Jayce McIntosh (6-0, 200, Sr.). McIntosh made 86 tackles, two sacks and had three PBUs. He is a physical player with the intelligence to match. Kam George (6-1, 300, Jr.) is a physically dominating player on the defensive line. In only his second year to play football, George controls the interior of the trench. Last season he accounted for 43 tackles and three sacks. Jackson Mills (5-11, 175, Sr.) is an inside linebacker and a tough player to block. Mills had 65 tackles on the season. Also look for Eli Beck (6-0, 180, Sr.) at safety. Beck is returning from an injury and is expected to make an impact on defense. Rylan Watson and Barrett Soares are two players to watch this season. Watson started some games as a freshman at end and could see time at fullback or tight end this year.
