Coach: DARLEAN CALIP

2024-25 Record: 17-12

OUTLOOK

Very few coaches have risen to the level of success coach Darlean Calip has enjoyed over the last 20 seasons. Now in her 21st season with Sapulpa, coach Calip is excited to get this team on the court and see what they can accomplish.

“Excited for this season. We were really young last season and making the jump from class 5A was a mental challenge for but in the end, we came together and made a State Tournament run. Looking to build off that season. We return four starters and looking for a youthful bench to help. We believe we have a team that will compete for a state championship this season,” coach Calip said.

Riki McQuarters (5-8, Sr.) is back after averaging 17.2 points a game with 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals. McQuarters is an exceptional athlete and led the team in every statistical category last year. McQuarters can score at all three levels. Kianna Littlebear (5-5, Jr.) is another player who can score and push the pace. Littlebear averaged 7.2 points and 2.1 rebounds a game. Thanks to her high IQ and passion for the game, Littlebear has interest from next level schools like ORU and Northeastern State.

Nylia Reid (5-9, Sr.) and Kailynne Parker (5-6, Sr.) are two seniors looking to help this team win games. Reid is a forward and averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds last year while Parker will play point guard where she averaged 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds a game.

Also look for Kayliana Hatfield (5-11, Fr.) who is a hybrid type player who comes in averaging 14.2 points and 5.6 rebounds a game in junior high. Lucchese Chaney (5-6, Jr.) will play guard giving coach Calip another player who can average 6.1 points and grab 2.0 rebounds a game. Other players to watch are Saori Welch (5-8, So.) at guard who posted 9.1 points and 3.2 rebounds as a freshman, Finley Yocham (5-7, So.) at guard, Abagail Rainey (5-6, So.) at guard, Braylee Hobia (5-7, Fr.) at guard and Hallie Sutton (5-8, So.) at forward.
