It’s a great time to be a Chieftain.

A thought not lost on Jayce McIntosh, a junior this season, who is excited to see what this team can accomplish with the players on the roster and a great coaching staff.

“I am excited to be a junior because I have been here my whole life, and I look forward to leading my team to their best ability,” said McIntosh. “I enjoy having a great team, great coaches, and the ability to get a good education.”

McIntosh is everything you want in a student-athlete in your program. He’s a great teammate and is willing to give everything he has to help the team win. McIntosh was quick to talk about his teammates and give them the credit for the hard work they are putting in to make this team better.

“I love their ability to be coachable, and that we all work as a team. Some guys who have impressed me are Dakota Chaney, Braddox Broughton, and Isaac Shelton,” said McIntosh.

While football is his focus athletically, McIntosh said his favorite subject in school is math and he’s hoping he can continue his playing career at the next level.

“I am hoping to play football in college and graduate,” said McIntosh.

One game he has circled on the schedule is the Highway 97 rivalry with Sand Springs.

“I am really excited to play Sand Springs for our senior night,” said McIntosh.

From going to the gym and working football drills to playing games with his friends, McIntosh said he’s thankful for all that he has and gives credit to his parents for helping him in everything he does on and off the field.
