Sapulpa’s Logan Mason – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Inkwell Printing

Sapulpa’s Logan Mason

In only his sophomore season, Sapulpa High School’s Logan Mason is playing first base and pitching for the Chieftains. Mason said he started playing baseball when he was only three, and now he’s proud to have made the varsity team last year as a freshman.

“My biggest accomplishment in sports is making varsity as a freshman in both football and baseball,” said Mason.

On the diamond, Mason said his strength is his defense.

“I feel strongest about my defensive attributes, and I have improved most about my hitting and being a better teammate,” said Mason.

But being a student-athlete is not without its challenges, even when the school and community are behind you.

“The biggest challenge by far is trying to keep good grades, have a job, stay dedicated to your sport and have a social life. I love to stay as busy as I can, but it catches up with me sometimes,” Mason said. “Sapulpa means a lot to me. It’s the one place I’ve gone to school at my entire life, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The way the community gets behind the students and their activities, is what makes this place special.”

Mason said his teammates are more life family and the support from everyone is amazing. “They mean absolutely everything. The support my parents have given me my entire life is unmatched. The belief that my coaches and teachers instill in me makes me feel like anything I want to accomplish, is possible. I wouldn’t trade my coaches for anyone,” Mason said. “What I love most about my teammates is that they are always supportive and will always be there for you.”

Mason plans to attend college and continue playing the game he loves at the next level.
