Sapulpa’s Zach Lewis
Zach Lewis is a senior at Sapulpa High School. He has been a starter for the Chieftains basketball team throughout his entire high school career and once again will be found leading the team as point guard, for one last season.
Lewis was a first team all-district player in 2023-24 who also led the Chieftains in points, assists, and steals last season. Lewis is a four-year starter for the Chieftains and was named to the VYPE Top 100 this year as well. He has a natural athleticism, but honing his skills more and more has made him the key player that he is.
“Getting better is what motivates me,” said Lewis.
His love for the game has been a lifelong one, with his interest beginning at five years old. His father got him into the sport, which Lewis says is one of the reasons he admires his dad.
Lewis, like many athletes, loves playing games that bring in big crowds.
“ ”His favorite memory in his basketball career so far was his first in-game dunk. With his last high school season right around the corner, he will hope to make a few more good memories on his way alongside his teammates, who he describes as some of his best friends.
In addition to basketball, Lewis also plays soccer and competes in track at Sapulpa. After graduation he intends to stick to his first love and continue playing basketball at the collegiate level.
