Senior Spotlight – Coweta’s Josiah Green – Presented by Amanda Curtsinger – Century 21 Realtor

Coweta High School senior Josiah Green is a member of the varsity track team and competes in several events for the Tigers.

Coming into the new season, Green said he has worked to improve his time in the 200-meters and is looking forward to competing.

“Last year was my first year running the 200 dash I started the year out with a 24 and ended with a 21.6 I’m excited for this year and excited for how much I will improve. I’m doing the 100, 200, 4×2, and high jump.”

The chemistry he shares with his teammates is what makes the team special.

“I love that we all have good chemistry and can just have fun but also get better at the same time,” said Green. “I feel like Brock Heilmann might be the most vocal and he is also the one making everyone laugh.”

In the classroom, Green is a member of the National Honor Society and said his favorite subject is English. However, his favorite teacher comes from his days in junior high.

“My favorite teacher would probably be Ms. Johnson my 8th grade English teacher,” Green said.

Inspired by basketball player LeBron James, Green also competes in basketball, but when he has some free time, you can usually find him spending it with friends and playing table tennis or watching movies.

Green said he enjoys competing at the Union HS track where he set his personal record, and he said athletics has taught him many lessons he will use throughout his life.

“Athletics have taught me that hard work pays off over time like you’re not just going get faster or better overnight, but if you keep putting in effort every day you will start seeing results,” Green said.
