Senior Spotlight with Charles Page Soccer Player Avery Miller – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: Avery, what age did you start playing soccer?

Avery Miller: I started playing soccer when I was four years old.

VYPE: What goals are you setting for your senior season?
AM: My goals for this season are to encourage and motivate my teammates and lead them through a very successful season.

VYPE: What are your strengths on the field and is there an area you have improved coming into the season?
AM: The strengths that being a good defender has brought to our team is providing a stable back line that the team can, not only trust to defend the goal, but to also connect with for our attack. I have improved on my defense in general as I’m moving to center back this year instead of the 6.

VYPE: What makes Charles Page HS a great place to be a student-athlete?
AM: CPHS provides so many opportunities to grow as a student and choose whatever path suits your desires. They offer different ways that will aid in future plans, which in my case is preparing me for college by taking TCC and upper-level classes.

VYPE: Do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?
AM: Karsen Lynch was a senior during my freshman year and left a huge impression on me. The way that she presented herself on and off the field and the way that she led the team has provided a good example for me to follow.

VYPE: Tell me what you love most about your teammates.
AM: I love that my teammates are always ready to work but also find joy and have fun while preparing for the season.

VYPE: What are your plans after graduation?
AM: I plan to go to OSU and major in business hospitality and management where I will then go on to hopefully own and run my own small resort.

VYPE: Who inspires you?
AM: My parents inspire because of their constant hard work to be able to provide a fun life for me and my family. They influence me to continue working hard and being positive throughout it all.
