It was her freshman season when Sapulpa’s Addyson Marlin started playing golf. Now a junior, Marlin is focused on her game and the classroom.
“I’m looking forward to get better and learn all I can from coach Boren since this is her first year coaching here,” Marlin said. “My favorite subject is math specifically algebra and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Greenfeather who is my FCCLA advisor but my all-time favorite teacher that is the absolute best is from my old school Lonestar is Mrs. Hopper.”
Marlin said her she has great chemistry with her teammates and is excited to see what they can accomplish this season.
“I love my teammates personalities and the way we all click and have fun together and I know they always have my back,” Marlin said. “My swing speed and distance has gotten better while practicing with coach Boren and I’m excited to see how it’ll improve the rest of the season.”
Competing in golf is 90 percent mental. A statement that holds true for Marlin.
“I usually listen to music on the way, and I just get into that mindset that I need to do my best and work hard,” said Marlin.
A former teammate left a big impression on Marlin.
“Hallie was a senior last year she’s a freshman in college right now that I played with and she made an impact on me but showing her dedication to the sport and showing how hard work pays off,” said Marlin.
Away from school and golf you can usually find Marlin spending time with family.
“I love listening to country music, I love doing puzzles with my family, watching movies with my mom and dad, I love to hang out with my cousins, aunt and uncle, and spending the day with my mom and dad and younger sisters is my always a good time. When I’m not doing those things, I’m working,” said Marlin.
Marlin has set a goal for herself after high school. “My goal is to be like my dad and attend TU and get a degree in business and accounting and I want to be an accountant or work in sales.”
