UNION LADY REDHAWKS
Coach: Joshua Berry
23-24 Record: 16-15
OUTLOOK
The Lady Redhawks are loaded this season with several returning players and a few underclassmen who are expected to contribute and have great seasons.
Head coach Joshua Berry said he has several players capable of having bug seasons and he is excited to see what they can accomplish.
Vanessa Coleman (5-10, Sr.) returns after suffering an injury that placed her on the sideline last year. Coleman is a guard/forward combo player who can average a double-double every night. Esme’ Smith (5-11, Sr.) is a high-motor player and the three-point shooter. Also capable of hitting that double-double mark, Smith will add some big rebounds to her stat line every night.
“ ”Ty’Reunae Taylor (5-7, Sr.) is an athletic point guard who knows how to pressure the ball defensively and get to the basket on the other end of the floor. JaMiya Woodard (5-10, Sr.) is one of the more athletic players in Oklahoma. There is not a job on the court Woodard can’t handle. Also pay attention to Yonae’ Edwards (5-10, Jr.) who can hit the three, and body up in the paint. If Edwards gets hot, grab your popcorn because she will put on a show.
Also look for Indya Hishaw (6-1, Jr.) is a skilled inside player with excellent footwork. Her game continues to develop as she becomes an all-around shooter. Isabella McSwain (5-5, Jr.) is a point guard who is shifty and plays with a high motor. McSwain is a problem on defense for opponents.
Other players to watch include Whitney Smith (5-7, Jr.) at guard, DaMaria Daniels (5-6, So.) at point, Jhazmyn Herron (5-4, So.) at point, Jada Davis (6-1, Fr.) at guard, and Mika Davis (6-1, Fr.) at guard. Both Davis girls are top five freshmen in Oklahoma.
