UNION REDHAWKS
Coach: ANTONIO GRAHAM
8-3
OFFENSE
Head coach Antonio Graham and offensive coordinator Zachary Simmonds want to be creative on offense and use their players skills to the offenses advantage. The pro-style offense will also include plenty of spread air-raid type plays with a triple option to keep the defense guessing. Five starters are back on offense include a 1,000-yard running back in Tay Parry (5-9, 170, Sr.). “Well-disciplined and hard working. We will have old school principles,” said coach Graham. Parry is an exciting back to have in the backfield and someone who is a threat to bust loose and take it to the house. His recruiting is picking up as he is a crucial part of the offense. Another big play player to watch is Stone Turner (6-1, 185, Sr.) at wide receiver. Another 1,000-yard player, Turner can stretch the field and force a defense to account for him on every play. Skyler Moorman (6-2, 197, Sr.) has the potential to solidify himself as a legit next-level quarterback after transferring in from Collinsville. Moorman has over 3,000-yards to his stat line and is looking to be the guy for the Redhawks. Dylan Taylor (6-0, 175, Jr.) is competing for playing time at QB and brings all the intangibles you want in a QB. Another player to watch is Daijon Gaines (6-1, 190, Sr.) who is committed to the University of Tulsa. Coach Graham called Gaines a “leader on and off the field,” and someone who provides the team with “spiritual leadership.” Gaines can beat you at WR, CB or as a kick returner. Also look for Jordan Avington (5-10, 170, Jr.) in the passing game. The offensive line is anchored by Jordan Johnson (6-3, 290, Jr.) who is a very strong, physical player and Manolin “Manman” Gonzalez (6-2, 302, Sr.).
DEFENSE
If you’re playing defense for the Redhawks, you need the ability to play physical football while staying flexible in your position. The Redhawks and defensive coordinator Nathan Foster will use a multi-positional rotating defense to keep guys fresh and mix things up for the opposing QB. Tucker Koch (6-0, 215, Sr.) has added his name to a long list of linebackers at Union who play hard from the snap to the whistle on every play. Last season Koch made 100 tackles with 12 sacks. Parry will help the defensive unit again this season. Look for Kai’Dence Simmons (6-1, 165, Sr.) in the secondary where his size and speed will allow him to cover the big, speedy receivers in 6AI. Oliver “Ollie” Smith (6-0, 170, Sr.) is an All-State DB who enters his final season on a mission. Last season Smith made 55 tackles with four INTs, two of the four he took to the house. Smith has a bright future at the next level. One player looking to make a big impact up front is defensive lineman Terrance Evans (6-3, 320, So.) who is considered the No. 1 defensive lineman for the class of 2028 in Oklahoma. Evans already has offers rolling in and will likely see more this season.
