Union’s Gracie Holmes
Entering her junior season at Union High School, Gracie Holmes said one of her biggest accomplishments is being there for her teammates and helping lead her club teams.
“My greatest accomplishment has been demonstrating strong leadership skills by serving as captain on all my club teams. I’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve my goals, and through this journey, I’ve grown closer to God, my family. These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am proud of the dedication and perseverance I’ve shown,” said Holmes.
As a member of the RedHawks, Holmes said she is looking forward to getting back on the pitch and competing for a 6A title.
“ ”“What I’m looking forward to the most are the new challenges I’ll face this season, and the position I’ll be playing is attacking midfielder,” Holmes said. “I am very technical and have good vision on the field. What I’ve improved on is my attacking and finding the back of the net.”
Holmes said a family member has left a big impression on her, on and off the field and her family is a source of inspiration. “My sister left a very big impression on me when she left. It hasn’t been the same for me since. My parents inspire me, they have always been by my side and have pushed me to be the best I can be.”
As a student-athlete, Holmes is in the EDGE program at UHS, which is helping her finish her associates degree. Once she graduates, Holmes will attend college to play soccer and work towards becoming a CRNA nurse.
