When basketball season tips off for the Lady Commandos of Cascia Hall, Scout Glisson will be one player to watch this season. Thanks to playing on a supportive team and a willingness to put in the hard work, Glisson and her teammates are looking forward to a fun season.
“What I love most about my team at Cascia is the support they provide me. They always push me to my full potential and help me grow into a better player,” said Glisson. “I expect us to build off last season and continue the new season with winning momentum.”
Glisson said she finds inspiration in someone close to her off the court.
“My sister is my biggest inspiration. She has always been someone I’ve looked up to because of her healthy lifestyle and amazing personality. She never gives up on her goals and I aspire to be like her,” Glisson said.
Glisson said her teammates are fun to be around, from the most vocal to the funniest player on the team.
“My most vocal teammate is probably Kate and my teammate that keeps everyone laughing is Gracyn,” Glisson said.
A basketball player since the fourth grade, Glisson said she has continued to work on her game and is excited to see what they can accomplish this year.
“I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I can remember but I didn’t start competitive until 4th grade. I play point guard,” said Glisson. “A skill I’ve improved most for this season is my turn around jump shot.”
In the classroom, Glisson said her favorite subject in school is a tie between Science and English. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Pettyjohn. Glisson is a member of the Investment Club and Spanish Club. Once her time at Cascia Hall comes to an end, Glisson said she would like to pursue a career in dentistry or cooperate law.
