OUTLOOK
Only time will tell what the 2025-26 version of the Dutch basketball team will look like this season. With a few question marks surrounding the lineup, head coach Teddy Owens is focused on taking his team with a lot of players and molding them into a machine that never grows tired and plays relentless defense.
“Return one starter from last year. This year’s team is senior heavy with six seniors on the team. Looking for seniors Carter Mardis, Beau Barnes, and Bryson Cool to have big years as they have played good minutes on varsity. Sophomore, Meeko Coon will start at point guard and brings great speed to the team. This year’s team is very deep, with potentially 13 players able to get playing time,” coach Owens said.

Carter Mardis (6-5, Sr.) is a small forward who brings the energy to the court. Known as an excellent communicator on the floor, Mardis displays great leadership for the Dutch. Mardis can play all five positions and guard all five spots as well. Another senior to watch is Beau Barnes (6-0, Sr.) at guard. Barnes is a shooting guard with excellent range. Bryson Cool (6-3, Sr.) is another guard coach Owens expects to have a big season.
Meeko Coon (5-11, So.) transferred from Sapulpa and will likely start at point guard. Coon is quick with an excellent outside shot but can drive to the rim when the opportunity presents itself. Coach Owens said Coon could potentially lead the team in scoring and assists this season. Also look for Stone Synar (6-4, Jr.) at power forward. Synar is someone who will battle for rebounds in the paint and force shooters to think twice and driving to the rim.
Other players to watch include Landon Clendenen (6-0, Sr.) at shooting guard, Ryan Golden (6-1, Sr.) at shooting guard, Luke Kramer (6-4, So.) at center, Dame Dokes (6-2, So.) at forward, and Layton Owens (5-11, Fr.) at point guard.
