Holland Hall senior Mia Adams is a force on the volleyball court. Adams started playing the sport as a freshman and never looked back. The senior knows how to prepare for tough matches and long tournaments.

“I think about the things I can do for my team and things that I can control. Whether it’s encouraging my teammates or trying to make a positive environment,” said Adams.

As a middle blocker, Adams works hard to keep the Dutch defense playing at a high level. Like many of her peers, Adams has a favorite tournament she enjoys playing.

“My favorite tournament to play in is Regent tournament, because we are able to play teams from different districts we wouldn’t normally play,” said Adams.

The senior loves being around her teammates and said they have a strong bond. When asked about a teammate who keeps everyone loose and who is the most serious, Adams was quick to answer.

“My team has several people that keep us laughing but one that stands out is Hadlee Reynolds, she’s also a great hype man on and off the court. Our most serious player would have to be Avery Robson,” said Adams.

Adams said being a student-athlete at Holland Hall is special for many reasons.

“Holland Hall has great academics it never gets boring. Not only that it’s preparing for the future of being a student-athlete in college. My favorite subject is math and science. My favorite teacher is Tokar,” said Adams.

Once her playing days come to an end, Adams would like to attend college where she hopes to become an Anesthesiologist. For now, the senior is looking forward to competing in the Hall Brawl and helping her team win. Adams said she has received a lot of great advice as a student-athlete, but one piece of advice has stuck with her.

“To have confidence because even the most talented athletes will struggle to achieve their potential and that I have to believe in myself and my abilities,” said Adams.
