Porter Arens
Holland Hall
Dutch tennis player Porter Arens is a senior this season and has worked hard to improve his game in all areas, whether he’s playing No.1 singles or doubles, Arens plans to be ready to help the team win.
“I worked on my strategic thinking during the match going in with a precise game plan and being able to make adjustments to what’s working and what’s not. We are still mixing the line up around. I think we are looking very strong and have a good chance at the title,” said Arens.
Arens spends most of his free time on the court. From traveling tournaments to practice, if he has a few minutes, Arens finds his way to the court.
“I play at Southern Hills and Tucker Tennis Academy, and I travel a majority of weekends playing USTA tournaments,” said Arens. “Genesis helped my game by allowing myself to have exposure to incredibly high-level players you have guys that are ranked 100-75-50-20 in the nation that you get to train with daily along with incredible coaching staff who have all played at a D1 or higher level.”
The work continues in the classroom where Arens said the flexibility of Holland Hall allows him to focus on both.
“The flexibility being able to play the sport I love off and on season. I love how supportive we are during tournaments and practice getting fired up,” said Arens.
After this season, Arens turns his attention to college. “I want to get my master’s in finance with a minor in accounting still figuring out the job I would like to do,” said Arens.
