Lincoln Christian Bulldogs – Boys Basketball Preview

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN BULLDOGS

BOYS

Coach: Jonathan Hopkins

23-24 Record: 16-13

OUTLOOK

The Bulldogs are hungry to get back in the gym after last season’s ending. Head coach Jonathan Hopkins said the team only graduated one senior.

“The Bulldogs lost in the Area Consolation game last year and with the addition of freshman, Parker McDaniel, returning seniors, Derek Stokes, Cannon Williams, Isaiah Campbell, and Grayson Hampton look to build on last season’s success. Derek and Cannon were both All-Conference in the loaded Pinnacle Conference, and Parker recently returned from a Team USA mini-camp where he was invited back for the next round of tryouts in April of 2025,” said coach Hopkins.

Derek Stokes (6-1, Sr.) averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season. Stokes is a three-year starter and is on pace to reach 1000-points this season. Isaiah Campbell (5-11, Sr.) joins Stokes at guard where he averaged 8.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest. Cannon Williams (6-3, Sr.) is a combo player who averaged 10.9 points, and 5.3 rebounds a game as a junior. Williams can score in multiple ways and is a matchup nightmare for opponents.

Also look for Grayson Hampton (6-1, Sr.) to make an impact this season. Called the “spiritual leader” of the team by coach Hopkins, Hampton was sidelined last season but appears to be ready to step onto the court this year. Hampton averaged 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. Chase Jobe (6-1, Jr.) is another guard who can score and push the ball. Jobe accounted for 2.5 points, and 1.5 rebounds a game. Jobe does all of the little things to help his team succeed. Other players to watch include Chandler Cozbey (5-10, Jr.), Jamie Ploch (6-3, Jr.), Luke Campbell (5-10, Jr,), Brett Kaste (6-0, So.), Aiden Hendren (6-1, Fr.), Cam Treadway (5-11, Fr.), Damyan Stokes (5-10, Fr.), Isaac Beisel (6-0, Fr.), Keller Tarp (5-10, Fr.), Levi Kruse (6-0, Fr.), and Parker McDaniel (6-2, Fr.).
