Lincoln Christian freshman Lola has already played a crucial part of the Bulldogs’ cheer squad in a short time. In just a year and a half, she’s gone from watching her friends on the sidelines to becoming one of the team’s flyers.

“Watching my friends cheer lit a spark in me. I thought, ‘why not me? I could totally do that!’” Lola said. “Being small makes flying even more fun.”

Her coach, Kristina Ritzhaupt, has played a huge role in her journey.

“She asked me one night if I was a cheerleader, and I had never considered it. After that, it just clicked. She’s a role model to me on and off the mat. I love her!”

When it comes to school Lola’s favorite teacher in class, she says her top pick is coach AB Stokes.

“He understands us, and always makes class fun,” said Swaggart.

Lola is involved in a lot at her school but is focusing mainly on cheer this year. Lola’s proudest memory so far came in eighth grade when her teammates voted her captain. This season, she has big goals.

“I just want to give my best in everything, because everything I do is to bring glory to God. As a team? I want a ring baby!”

The Bulldogs get pumped up before every game and competition with a chant that Lola says brings them together.

“TABTTG — Twice as bold, twice the gold! DOUBLE RINGS FOR THE KING, STRONGER TOGETHER, BONDED FOREVER,” said Swaggart.

In the future, Lola dreams of studying business at Oral Roberts University and starting her own brand “the next Lululemon or Kendra Scott.”
