Regent Prep’s Bo Bayless Athlete Spotlight Presented by Genesis Health Clubs

Bo Bayless

Regent Prep

Bo Bayless is a junior at Regent Prep where he’s a member of the varsity tennis team as well as a member of the Beta Club and the Krypto Math Team. Bayless has played tennis for four years and he is looking forward to this season as the team’s No.1 singles player.

“This year will be a fun team with different skill sets. It will be an opportunity to help each other improve,” said Bayless.

For the student-athletes at Regent Prep, it’s about support and growth in their faith, something Bayless loves about his school.

“I appreciate how we’re able to receive an excellent, classical education and also have the opportunity to be competitive in our sport. Our coaches are most concerned about our growth in Christ; our athletic performance is secondary. Regent culture is great for student athletes because we all pour into each other and cheer each other on,” said Bayless.

His teammates are a big reason he loves being a member of the team.

“They are very encouraging and want the best for each other which makes practice and tournaments fun,” said Bayless.

The work it takes to be competitive in tennis is ongoing. Bayless continues to work on his game.

“I have tried to implement a more consistent game while also mixing in more aggressive strategies,” said Bayless. “I really appreciate how extremely knowledgeable, experienced and passionate the Genesis coaches are. Tucker Academy coaches are among the best in the country.”

Bayless is making plans for his future after high school.

“My first priority is to attend a college with a degree program to prepare me for seminary and to equip me to do mission work. With the right college fit, I would love to be able to play tennis as well,” said Bayless. In his free time Bayless said he enjoys hanging out with family, attending youth group at church, reading and watching sports and movies.
