BOYS

Coach: Ryan Wakley

23-24 Record: 23-6

OUTLOOK

Coming off a 23-win season, head coach Ryan Wakley feels good about the chemistry of this team heading into the new season.

“Our team this year will be built around having a good team culture. Our team chemistry will be a catalyst for our success this year. We have a group of seniors with years of varsity experience. We had a very successful Class of 2024, and we are hoping to continue to build off of that momentum,” said Wakley.

A trio of seniors are expected to be leaders this year including guard Connor Hislop (5-9), Jordan Brown (6-5), and Vinny Iser (6-6). Coach Wakley believes Hislop brings some exceptional abilities to the floor for the Conquerors.

Connor Hislop – Victory Christian High School

“Hislop is widely recognized as one of the best on-ball defenders in the state, and it’s easy to see why. His defensive skills are a perfect blend of quickness, anticipation, and tenacity. Connor possesses lightning-fast reflexes that allow him to stay in front of his opponent, making it difficult for them to get comfortable with the ball,” said Wakley.

Jordan Brown is a wing player who is comfortable playing inside or stepping out and hurting you from the perimeter. Brown will use his size to get to the rim and be a factor when battling for rebounds. Vinny Iser at forward gives the Conquerors another player who can push the issue in the paint and give Victory a shot at rebounds on both ends of the court.

One player to watch this season is Gunnar Goodnight (5-9, Jr.) who could play point guard this season. Goodnight is expected to have a larger role on the team and could have a breakout season for the Conquerors. Follow Conqueror basketball on X @CNQR_hoops
