Victory Christian’s Kaemyn Franklin
Victory Christian senior Kaemyn Franklin will have to miss his entire senior season on the diamond. But Franklin, who is considered one of the top baseball players in the state, has a lot to look forward to.
The pitcher/third baseman is currently committed to the University of Oklahoma and also has his eyes set on the 2025 MLB Draft in July. Franklin has seen the potential for a professional career unfold before in his own family. His older brother, Kohl, a former Broken Arrow High School standout, is currently one of the top prospects in the Chicago Cubs organization.
“He has always been there for me during my career so far, and it has been a blessing for me to have him available whenever so he can help me out with whatever I need because he knows what it takes to get there,” Kaemyn said.
Kaemyn transferred to Victory Christian following a stint with Bixby High School last year as a junior. Kaemyn’s primary focus right now is getting healthy. He suffered a UCL injury in late February, just a week prior to opening day for the Conquerors.
“ ”“My goal this year is to dominate my rehab, and I look forward to getting healthy, and looking forward to the 2025 MLB Draft.”
Franklin, who was also a standout on the Victory Christian basketball team, thrives on the pitcher’s mound. He has the frame that has scouts excited. The 6-foot-3 right-hander can attack hitters in a variety of ways and has good command of the strike zone.
“Just being a strike thrower and knowing where to hit my spots has helped me get some of the best players out,” he said.
Kaemyn has also participated with the best of the best during the summer. He has been a part of three national championships with the Chi Town Cream in Chicago. He’s also a two-time Area Code Select pick.
“My proudest moment is being an area code player of the game and going in with the bases loaded and striking out the next three of four that inning and ended up with six strikeouts and two hits in three innings,” Kaemyn said. “Signing with the University of Oklahoma was a very proud moment as well. Winning the WWBA national championship and closing that game was a big moment for me as well.”
