VYPE: What grade are you in this year and how long have you been playing volleyball?

Ava Ward: I am in 11th grade, and I have been playing since I was 10 years old.

VYPE: Who has been a big influence on your life and why?

AW: My parents because they have always been there for me and are my biggest cheerleaders.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?

AW: My favorite subject is science, and my favorite teacher is Coach Reeves.

VYPE: What clubs or groups are you involved in at school?

AW: I am involved in FFA, Link Crew, and Yearbook.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?

AW: I like how we are all challenging each other to be better on and off the court.

VYPE: What opponent do you look forward to playing this season?

AW: Verdigris because it’s always a close competition against them.

VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?

AW: I plan on going to college for veterinary medicine.

VYPE: Who is the best setter on the team?

AW: I think all the setters on the team are great and they all bring something different to the team.

VYPE: Jump serve or standing serve? Which do you prefer and why?

AW: I like to jump serve because it’s a harder serve and not a lot of people can do it.
