Jonathan Medlin is the current Middle School Principal for Commerce Public Schools, and a former student in the Southern Nazarene University’s Master’s and Doctorate programs.

After a discussion with the program director at SNU, Medlin knew SNU was the right school for him.

“After a conversation with the director of the program, I understood the Christ-centered focus of the program and the experience of a trusted friend who had completed the program reaffirmed the quality of the education I would receive,” said Medlin.

With a focus on professional development, the degrees Medlin received from SNU will help in advance in his career.

“The Doctorate degree and the Master’s program at SNU before this program helped me prepare to become a secondary-level administrator. Both programs provided essential leadership knowledge and training that have better equipped me for my career as an educational leader,” Medlin said. “The Doctorate in Education and Leadership aims to train and equip leaders for the evolving challenges of our time. Its core focus is to provide aspiring leaders with a well-rounded and Christ-centered educational experience that will positively impact their world.”

Medlin currently holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Master of Business Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Bachelor of Arts in Business. Medlin said he has enjoyed his time at SNU.

“I am grateful to the incredible leaders who have guided us on this journey and to the amazing leaders with whom I have been blessed to share classes over the length of the program.”

Originally from the Northeast area of New York and New Hampshire, Medlin moved her when he was 12. Away from work, Medlin said he enjoys time with family.

“I spend time with my family and am a Papa to our four super grandchildren. I also play a little golf and read about other quality leaders.”

Medlin offers this advice to anyone interested in continuing their education with SNU.

“Research the program, institution, and leadership before you begin. If you do, you will find an incredible staff, leadership, and program at SNU that will help you become the leader you can be and reach your goals.”
