Connor Jensen, For the Love of the Game – Presented by Coweta Tire

Connor Jensen is a junior at Coweta High School who got his start in basketball at a very young age. His love for the game was inspired by those closest to him.

“I’ve played basketball since I was four and I became interested in basketball because both my parents played it growing up,” said Jensen.

Jensen says that his best memory in his sport so far was hitting the game winning shot in the championship game of the Verdigris tournament last year. But even more than the highlight reel moments, Jensen values his teammates.

“My favorite part of playing high school sports is all the friends and close relationships you have through your sport,” he said. “My teammates motivate me to be my best.”

Jensen knows that sportsmanship is important, and that character is something that is evident on and off the court.

“Character is who someone is and staying true to what they believe,” he said. “It is important because it defines who we are.”

In addition to playing basketball for the CHS Tigers, Jensen enjoys playing golf and going hunting. Although he still has plenty of time to think it over, he says that he may be looking at attending college at Oklahoma State University.
