CROSSOVER PREP ACADEMY
Coach: DURRELL ROBINSON
2024-25 Record: 22-8
OUTLOOK
A program that continues to develop into one of the top basketball schools in Oklahoma, Crossover Preparatory Academy returns several key players who are looking to take another big step as a contender. Head coach Durrell Robinson finished his first season at the helm of the program with the school’s best record to date.
“Crossover Preparatory Academy made the state championship game in the HCAA Class 3A runner up finish to power Sunrise Christian Academy. Crossover has made the jump and should be an immediate threat in OSSAA Class B this season,” coach Robinson said.
Augie Pickard (6-3, Sr.) is a player coach Robinson calls “the best kept secret in Oklahoma.” Pickard is a relentless competitor and an explosive dunker. Pickard was named to the VYPE Top 100 list coming into the season after averaging 20.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.5 assists and 2.3 blocks per game last year. Pickard is the catalyst that keeps this team going. His play and production are crucial to the overall success of the program.
“Has never played AAU. Plays all over the floor for us due to lack of true size. Has had interest from Western Michigan, Oklahoma Wesleyan and some other schools,” coach Robinson said. “Expected to compete for some individual hardware and team hardware this season. Natural leader on and off the floor.”
The team does return several players who are capable of big nights and continue to improve their game.
“We return top players Augustine Pickard at guard, Josiah Shaw (5-10) at point guard, and TJ Clark (6-1, Jr.) at guard. We have also added Izaak Williams (5-10, So.) at guard, a transfer from Union High School as well as incoming freshman Jory Cammon (6-5,). A tough scheduled that will prepare them for the post season with games at Link Prep Academy (MO), home and away versus Tulsa McLain, at Tulsa KIPP, Memorial Invitational versus Victory Christian and the Skiatook tournament. This will be an exciting, deep team that plays fast,” coach Robinson said.
Williams, the Union HS transfer, brings a nice jump shot and a tremendous work ethic to the court. Basketball is in his DNA, coming from a family with NBA ties, Williams will only get better with time.
Shaw was the second leading scorer last season and led the team in assists. He also finished the season second in steals. His quickness allows him to get to the rim and make things happen. His play at point guard is solid on both ends of the floor. Shaw is a graduate of the Thunder Fellows program and is a dual enrollment student.
