Genesis Tennis Easton Casey
Going from player to coach is a natural progression for many athletes who compete at a high level. For Genesis tennis coach Easton Casey, coaching has been a natural fit.
“I have a new role as the Fitness Manager and Personal Trainer,” said Casey.
A former Bixby High School player from 2010-2014 and a college tennis player at Northeastern State University from 2014-2018, Casey understands what it takes to be successful at both levels.
Now her job entails more than just coaching tennis.
“The Genesis Health Club has a unique situation, as its main thing is tennis, it has a huge adult and juniors program. Before it was Genesis it was just a tennis club. I trained here in high school while it was the Grand and TTA,” Casey said. “Since my background is predominantly tennis, I feel like getting this job was just a perfect fit for me. I can really relate and build trust with the members that are here for tennis and offer them more specific training towards tennis – injury prevention, agility, footwork, explosiveness, endurance, and strength training.”
Creating or programming workouts specifically for clients is a specialty Casey does for the members who utilize her services.
“I love programming workouts for my clients and watching them progress each week! I love celebrating with them and watching them smile when they realize how much stronger they have gotten. It’s as satisfy for me as it is for them, lol. Most of all I love coaching because I get to build relationships with people. God has made each and every person different, with different stories and backgrounds, and getting to be part of their lives even for 1-3 hours a week is so fun for me,” said Casey.
Genesis offers its members the opportunity to train with someone like Casey and other coaches and trainers on staff.
“We all have so much to offer – knowledge, experience, kindness, and care. We also don’t just have great tennis pros, but we also have trainers that know what they are talking about to help you get stronger and help you reduce risk of injury,” said Casey.
When she’s not coaching Casey said she like spending time with my husband, Evan Casey. “Depending on how we are feeling when we get home, we’ll either do something outside or just relax inside. On the weekends I try to be with friends either at a coffee shop or hanging out at their house since most of my friends have babies.
