Bradley Breland

When the Trojans of Kiefer High School take the field this year, one of their teammates, Bradley Breland, will be playing his final season of prep football. Breland is a two-way starter, which is physically taxing, but the senior said he would not have it any other way.
“Going two ways does get tiring but it doesn’t bother me. I love playing both ways because I get plenty of playing time on the field. I’m playing a slot receiver, running back, and linebacker,” said Breland.
As a slot receiver, Breland is a proven commodity for the Trojans. Willing to go across the middle and make important blocks in the run game, Breland said it’s a fun position to play, but he loves running the football.
“I love slot receiver because it is a chance to run the ball and run routes. My favorite position is running back. I love finding the hole and having a chance to hit someone. Linebacker is a spot that you are going to get tackles from and you’re most likely going to be in all the action,” said Breland.
For the last three years, Breland has been a member of the wrestling team, but he plans to play football and be a member of the powerlifting team this year. For Breland, being a student-athlete is what the high school experience is all about.
“KHS makes a great place as an athlete because you get close with your teammates if you want to or not. Also, you have a brotherhood that may or may not last a long time.
This season Breland and his teammates are focused on the task at hand.
“My dream scenario would be the whole team rushing to the middle of the field knowing we just won a championship. What I love about my teammates are that we all have the same goal as each other and we can all joke around without getting mad,” said Breland.
Away from school, Breland said he enjoys hanging out with his friends, resting up for the week and working on a car with his dad; something they did this summer. The senior said his personal goal this year is to be a good team leader, rush for 1,200 yards and win a state championship.
