OUTLOOK
After making it to the Area finals last season, a new day is dawning for the Ravens of Riverfield Country Day School. Head coach Jason Bogle is excited to see what the Ravens can accomplish as several young players look to get their shot this season.
“We return two starters off an Area finals team. We have a fast and athletic group. We have some sophomores and juniors that will be starting for the first time so we should get better as the year goes on and they gain experience. We are led by returning starters senior Anthony Harper and junior Max Harper. Senior Jackson McGillen, juniors Parker Corbin, Quinn Stevenson, Cameron Williams, and sophomores Scott Thompson, Alex Findley and Stone Roosevelt will play key roles,” Bogle said. “This group has embraced the culture of our program and wants to continue the success that we have had.”
“ ”That past success includes four area tournaments and one appearance at state in the past four years. Leading the way is Anthony Harper (6-3, Sr.) at guard and Max Harper (5-11, Jr.) at guard. While the Harper boys are not related, there stats are cousins. Anthony averaged 10 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals a game while Max averaged 14 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals. Both players bring a solid set of skills to the court for the Ravens.
Jackson McGillen (6-2, Sr.) will likely start in the post while Parker Corbin (6-0, Jr.) and Cameron Williams (6-1, Jr.) will see time at guard. Quinn Steenson (6-2, Jr.) is another post player to watch this season. Also look for Scott Thompson (5-11, So.), Alex Findley (5-11, So.) and Stone Roosevelt (5-9, So.) to see quality minutes this season.
Other players to watch include Wynn Dorwart (5-11, So.) at guard, Alex Gund (5-11, So.) at guard, Jackson Coon (6-1, So.) at post, Isaiah Post (6-2, Sr.) at post, Cole Patterson (5-9, Jr.) at guard, and Ben Fallis (5-10, Fr.) at guard.
