BERRYHILL MAIDENS
Coach: Nichole Tate
23-24 Record: 11-15
OUTLOOK
It’s going to be a fun season for the Maidens of Berryhill and head coach Nichole Tate. While the team may be young, they are loaded with players who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the win and have fun doing it.
“Our team for the 2024-25 season will be young with only two seniors. Although we will be young, we will be fast, scrappy, and competitive. We look forward to a winning season and to be playing in late February,” said coach Tate.
VYPE Top 100 selectee and returning starter Ava Slagle (5-11, So.) is coming off one of the best freshman seasons in memory and is known for her ability to battle in the paint and put up double-double numbers on a consistent basis. A power forward with the skill set to play center, Slagle is a key component for Berryhill.
“ ”“She scored over 200 points as a freshman. Ava can score in the paint and has an outside game as well. She reads the defense well in order to make smart decisions on offense. She is a defensive threat and a big asset for us on the boards on both ends of the floor,” said coach Tate.
Slagle is not alone out on the court. Leighton Inhofe (5-8, Fr.) is an exciting young player at forward and someone who can compliment Slagle and give the Maidens another player who can battle for rebounds and score in multiple ways. Finding her way to the rim is not an issue or she can hurt you with a good outside shot.
Abigail Panak (5-3, Sr.) brings that energy and scrappiness coach Tate wants from her team. Panak is a quick guard who can break down and defense and make smart passes. On the defensive end of the floor, Panak is quick and disruptive.
