Sapulpa’s Brady Powers

For love of sport, family and school, Sapulpa High School’s Brady Powers is a fierce competitor on the pitch and is looking forward to his final season of prep soccer.

“My goals are to help lead my team to a successful season and being one of the older guys is to be a mentor to the younger players and help them grow and become better players,” said Powers.

Now a senior for Sapulpa, Powers first started playing futbol when he was only four years old. Powers continues to work on his game and improve to help his team win.

“I would say my skill sets are being fast and having a high IQ for the game of soccer. I improved on realizing that I need to step up and become a leader on this team,” said Powers.

Powers said his teammates are more like family and he wants to leave an impression on the underclassmen.
“The thing I love most about my teammates is we have each other’s backs no matter what. No matter how many times we argue with each other, at the end of the day, we all know we have a brotherhood nobody can break,” Powers said. “I’ve been impressed with everyone. We all have been working hard and going to practices. We all have grown so much from the summer to now. I think one former teammate that left an impression for me was Braydon McSweeny. He is still around as the middle school coach, and he helps give advice for the players on the varsity team and his IQ for the game of soccer is something I am inspired by, and he is somebody I can go to and ask questions.”

Powers is inspired by his mother for everything she does in his life to help him succeed, including life after high school.

“My goal after high school is to go to a good college and get my major in Exercise and Sports Science and become a Physical Therapist who helps people recover from injuries as fast as possible,” said Powers.
