Coweta’s Kate Little
VYPE: What grade are you in and what are your plans after you graduate?
Kate Little: I am currently a junior at Coweta High School. Exactly what I would like to do with my college and career remains undecided. If I had to say today, I would choose to get a degree in general nursing or in rehabilitation nursing and become a traveling nurse with my sister so that we can not only help people but travel around together while we’re young.
VYPE: Kate, what activities are you involved in at school?
KL: I am a member of the varsity basketball and track team and am also a member of National Honor Society.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life? Explain.
KL: My older sister of two years has been a huge influence on my life. She has taught me how to persevere in the face of adversity, educated me on taking my time in things because life moves so fast, and taught me how to love my journey and devote myself to the things I enjoy. I would say she not only has inspired me in so many parts of my life, but also levels me as a person.
VYPE: What do you love most about being in the basketball program?
KL: What I love most about the basketball program is that it can be anything you make it. I try to bring positivity and humor to the floor every day, because in sports it can be very easy to become too serious and get down when things don’t go your way. So I would say I love the way our team can make it a light and welcoming place to improve on your game and grow as a whole.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
KL: I love that there is never a dull moment with my teammates. From the girls that I’ve grown up with playing basketball, to the ones that have more recently joined us, they all feel like family. We are able have such fluid chemistry as a team and we all make it a mission to challenge each other to become better on and off the court. I would say what I love most about my team and teammates is how they’ve all seen me grow into myself and continue to push and challenge me to become better every day. I cherish every one of them.
