Bixby’s Keller Roach

Bixby junior Keller Roach is already looking forward to next year on the mat.

“My goal next year is to place at state, and I look forward to having fun with the team,” Roach said.

Roach wrestled at 132 and 138 pounds for a majority of this past season and posted a 31-21 record. His best stretch came from mid-December and into January where he posted eight consecutive wins, three of those coming on pins against Del City’s Mynor Chaj, Beggs’ Tucker King and Booker T. Washington’s Jack Regan. Roach posted eight wins by fall in 2024-25, including three straight in mid-January against the likes of Bryson Bailey (Beggs), Cohen Manning (Prosper, Texas) and Jace Gates (Glenpool).

Roach, who says he has improved most on his hand fighting and included stamina and strength has his biggest strengths, didn’t grow up around the sport of wrestling.

“My biggest influences have been my coaches, because I didn’t grow up watching wrestling or knowing anything about it so they taught me everything.

“I don’t really know what my proudest moment as a wrestler would be yet. Hopefully I will find out next year.”

Roach says he’s undecided on what he wants to do following his completion of high school.
