Sapulpa’s Lillie Wilson
Growing up Sapulpa, Lillie Wilson had lots of opportunities to get involved in many different activities, but she gravitated to one sport while in preschool that she still plays today.
“I started playing in preschool at the Sapulpa Soccer Club,” Wilson said. “I play for Sapulpa High School, and I play club at Westside Alliance in Tulsa.”
Wilson said she loves the support she and her teammates receive from the coaches, fans and parents who attend the games.
“The support you get from coaches and teachers on and off the field makes Sapulpa a great place as a student-athlete,” said Wilson.
As a player on the varsity team, Wilson said she mainly plays defense and mid-field, but she wouldn’t mind trying forward. Wilson said she loves her teammates and the support they give one another.
“The encouragement and guidance we give one another is what I love,” said Wilson.
Several players have impressed Wilson this year and she is excited to talk about her teammates and their accomplishments.
“Adilyn Bilby was quiet at the start of the season and stepped up for the team as a defender. She always gives it her all during games and a very dependable player to have,” said Wilson.
During her down time, Wilson said she likes to spend time with family, attending their games and events or relaxing at home. Once high school comes to an end, Wilson plans to continue playing soccer in college while working towards a degree in Sports Medicine.
