Nathan Hale’s Jordan Deroin – Football Spotlight – Presented by Huntington Learning Center

Nathan Hale’s Jordan Deroin

When head coach Jesse Jones took over the Ranger football program, he was pleased to find Jordan Deroin on the roster at quarterback. A VYPE Top 100 selectee, Deroin is one of the top players in the class and someone who is on the verge of having a breakout season.

“He’s a rare talent who could legitimately play Division I football at five different positions. He has the size, speed, and skill to be dominant, no matter where he lines up,” said coach Jones.

But Deroin is more than just a great athlete, he’s working hard in the classroom to become the complete player for the Rangers. His football IQ is off the charts and Deroin takes that same approach to the classroom.

Coach Jones said Deroin comes from a family full of athletes and he is following in their footsteps.

“Jordan comes from a proud football lineage — his father, Danny Knighton, was an All-State player at Nathan Hale. Jordan is carrying on that legacy with pride and determination. Having coached at some of the top programs in the state, I can confidently say Jordan Deroin could have played anywhere, for anyone. He’s that special,” said coach Jones.

At 6-foot-1 and 180-pounds, Deroin certainly has the measurables to play at the next level, but his leadership and competitive nature is what will likely give him the opportunity to suit up on Saturday.
