Victory Christian senior Ana Appel is a member of the varsity volleyball team, Christian Honor Student Association, Christians United for Israel, and Student Council. To say Appel is a busy student is an understatement.
It was in the fifth grade when she first started her journey in volleyball. This season she is a setter and right-side hitter for the Lady Conquerors. Being part of the team is something Appel loves, and she considers her teammates like family.
“The thing I love most about my team and my teammates is how we are a family. I truly love each one of my teammates, our team culture is so fun, and we push each other to work hard every day,” said Appel.
The senior said her inspiration comes from her parents and her faith.
“My parents inspire me every day by the way they teach me to love the Lord and walk out life. I would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for them,” said Appel.
In the classroom, Anatomy is her favorite subject, but something the senior has been focused on is her ACT test. Appel said she is took an ACT prep course at Huntington Learning Center to better prepare her for the big test.
“I have enjoyed the intentionality of the teachers and the structure of the course,” said Appel.
Her future plans include attending Oral Roberts University where she will major in Nutrition Sciences and hope to serve as a missionary. For now, Appel said she enjoys being outside, hanging out with family and friends and cooking.
