OUTLOOK
As the Dutch prepare for the upcoming season, head coach Crystal Lawson is working in a new roster that includes several young players who will fill starting roles this season. Graduation took its toll on the team, but Lawson is optimistic they can develop and grow as the season moves forward.
“We graduated seven seniors last year and all five starters. With no seniors on the team this year, we will be looking for youth to step up and contribute,” coach Lawson said.

Nia Toliver (5-8, Jr.) returns to the lineup with varsity experience from last season. Toliver averaged 4.5 points a game with 2.0 rebounds. Toliver could be the focal point for the team this season.
“As the season progressed last year, Nia got more and more playing time on a senior heavy team. She has continued to improve and worked on her game throughout the summer. I expect her to be a leader this year on a very young team,” coach Lawson said.
Nala Toliver (5-8, Jr.) is another player with some experience returning to the floor. Last season she averaged 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds a game. Adison Hill (5-5, Jr.) will join the Toliver’s in the backcourt. Hill averaged 2.0 points and 2.3 rebounds a game. Look for this trio to lead the team this season.
A couple of underclassmen to watch include Harper Henson and Dallis Hishaw. Both are freshmen who can help the team this season, despite not having varsity experience.
Harper loves to be in the gym according to coach Lawson.
“She loves to be in the gym working on her shot. We will look for Harper to continue improving and contributing this year,” coach Lawson said.
Hishaw brings athleticism and quickness to the court for the Dutch.
“She is very athletic. Currently playing volleyball but expect her to have a great season for us this year,” coach Lawson said.
