UNION REDHAWKS
Coach: SCOTT NORRIS
2024-25 Record: 23-9
OUTLOOK
It’s the beginning of a new era at Union High School as coach Scott Norris takes over the program, following in the footsteps of legendary coach Rudy Garcia. In April, Garcia announced his retirement after a 30-year career that included more than 600 wins, 23 state tournament appearances, 19 area championships, 22 regional championships and 25 Coach of the Year awards and three state championships.
Coach Norris has big shoes to fill, but he is ready for the challenge and is excited to get this first season underway.
“Very excited about this year’s team. We have good size and athleticism. Senior Miles Flemons is the best big man in 6A and is a match up nightmare. We have a lot of new faces so it will take time for us to really understand who we are,” Norris said.

Miles Flemons (6-8, Sr.) is highly regarded as the best post player in Oklahoma. A VYPE Top 100 selectee, Flemons has started since his freshman season and has committed to Drake University. The dominant big man will have some help from forwards Robbie Manning (6-4, Sr.) and Caleb King (6-5, Jr.). The trio will prove to be a nightmare for opponents on both ends of the floor.
Jaxon Boyd (6-2, Sr.) will play guard giving the Redhawks a great leader and all-around athlete in the backcourt. Boyd is not the only guard looking to make headlines. Jiffy Buckley (6-0, Jr.) and Nicho N’Gouan (5-9, Sr.) figure into the gameplan for the Redhawks this season.
K’Mari Block Jones (6-6, So.) is an exciting young forward who coach Norris said has a ton of potential. If Jones, who is a tremendous athlete, develops into an inside/outside player like the team expects, Union could become one of the more solid teams in every aspect of the game this season and it could equal a run at the state tournament this year.
