COWETA TIGERS
Coach: ROB MCKINZIE
2024-25 Record: 4-18
OUTLOOK
In his first season as the head coach of the Tiger basketball program, Rob McKinzie comes in with a solid history of winning games and building a program. McKinzie led Eufaula to 18 wins, and a Top 20 ranking, despite the Ironheads moving up to Class 4A a year ago.
Six new faces in the top 12-18 for Coweta bodes well for a bounce back season for the Tigers. Led by returning senior starters Connor Jensen, who averaged 10.2 ppg, and 4.9 reb, and Josiah Green, who added 7.2 ppg, and 5.6 reb, with Kooper McNac (4.2 ppg), Coweta has senior experience that should carry the team during the season while looking to develop a talented sophomore class that logged multiple starts as freshmen. The Tigers lost seven games within 2-3 possessions a season ago.

“One of the main new faces looking to make an impact on the Tiger lineup is Jake Rampey from Cascia Hall. The talented 6-foot-3 wing joined the Tigers at semester last season but won’t make his debut for Coweta until this winter,” said coach McKinzie. “The athletic shooter can score at all three levels in route to multiple 20-30 point outputs during JV second semester and in summer league action. Rampey has started to receive recruiting interest from area and regional colleges.”
Multiple upperclassmen like seniors Blake Mackenzie, Kurt Thomas, Dylan Ingold, and junior LaMarko Bell will bring experience, and fight to round out the starting lineup, while Coach “MAC” looks to the sophomores – Ryder Hogan, Noah Findley, Nathan Nipps, and newcomers Latonio Hutchinson and Austin McKinzie – to see who can fill key roles in what could be a 10-12 man rotation in their up-tempo style. A new, exciting roster should be fun for the Coweta faithful this season.
