Collinsville’s Raeghan Rogers

The recent rise in popularity of girls’ wrestling spotlights a new group of young athletes. Raeghan Rogers is one of those athletes tackling the challenge to show people that wrestling is not just for boys.
A senior at Collinsville High School, Rogers spent three years as a mat maid and will be on the mat as a wrestler this year.
“I have always loved the sport!” she says, adding, “The best advice anyone has given me is to not compare your progress to others because everyone’s timeline is different!”
Fellow teammate and drill partner, Ashtyn Gilkey, leaves the biggest impression on Rogers. Gilkey is a team leader who inspires Rogers to be the best wrestler she can be.
“Representing my school as an athlete is something I will forever be grateful for. Ever since I started going to Collinsville, I have loved it here and love getting to represent it! The best part, however, is seeing all the little kids look up to you and want to be just like you,” she says.
Rogers has been at Collinsville her entire life. She says the hardest questions to answer is who her favorite teacher is.
“I have to say ALL of my teachers have had a huge impact on my life in various ways!” she exclaims.
A life lesson Rogers learned through wrestling is that you can’t give up, quit or stop just because something is hard. Keep pushing and you will eventually see the payoff, she says.
“I want to say thank you to the Lord for allowing me to live this incredible life, my family who support me through all my activities, my teachers for always helping me in any way they can and to all the coaches who encourage me and are the reason I am wrestling,” Rogers said.
In addition to wrestling, Rogers is a football trainer, baseball manager and holds the title of 2025-2026 Oologah Rodeo queen. She also enjoys spending time with family and traveling. The best vacation she took was her last trip to South Padre Island with her grandpa.
After high school, she plans to attend college and become an anesthesiologist nurse.
