Collinsville’s Kobie Brader
Collinsville High School’s Kobie Brader has built her reputation on covering ground, whether she is directing play from the midfield in soccer or reading attacks as a libero on the volleyball court. A four-year varsity athlete in both sports, Brader has become one of the Cardinals’ most dependable competitors and leaders.
Brader’s résumé reflects that consistency. She has earned first-team all-conference honors in volleyball in 2025 and second-team recognition in 2024, while also claiming first-team all-district accolades in soccer in both 2023 and 2024. Those achievements matter to her, but so does the growth that came with them. She said competing year-round has taught her not to be so independent, to trust the people around her and to appreciate “even the little things” in everyday life.
Her support system stretches beyond the gym and pitch. Brader points to her papa as her greatest inspiration, describing him as her best friend who is always pushing her to become a better version of herself, ready with advice or simply a hug. She also credits her fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. McGill, for helping her through a difficult year and always making her feel wanted.
At Collinsville, Brader has shared the court and field with her sister, Kaydin, an experience she calls their biggest strength. “She is so driven and my other half,” Brader said. That family feel extends to the Cardinals as a whole, as she cites the team’s culture and unwavering support as her favorite part of representing the school.
Brader leans on a simple piece of advice “be a goldfish” a reminder to let go of mistakes quickly and move forward. She looks up to professional star Caitlin Clark for bringing new attention to women’s sports and gives special thanks to her mom for being her rock and to Coach Christian for trusting her to lead and play the game she loves.
