VYPE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES THE 2025 SHELTER INSURANCE MR. FOOTBALL AWARD WINNER: KAYDIN JONES FROM JENKS HIGH SCHOOL

ULSA, OK (January 14th, 2026) – VYPE Magazine and Shelter Insurance are proud to announce the winner of the 2025 Mr. Football Oklahoma Award is Kaydin Jones of Jenks High School. Jones becomes the fourteenth player to win the coveted award and the third player from Jenks High School.

The Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Oklahoma Award recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of Kaydin Jones and the high standards of athletic excellence and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, which distinguishes Jones as Oklahoma’s best high school football player this season.

Jones engineered an historic season with the Jenks Trojans under the leadership and guidance of head coach Adam Gaylor and offensive coordinator Tyler Chronister.

Multiple records were broken this season as Jones accounted for 2,001 yards rushing on 265 carries with 41 touchdowns (a single season record). Jones added 403 yards receiving with five TDs. Jones set the single game rushing record at 445 yards and in the same game scored a record breaking 8 touchdowns. In that same game Jones set the single game all-purpose yards record for a Jenks running back at 558 yards. For his career, Jones set three records with 4,757 yards rushing on 701 carries with 88 career touchdowns. Jones amassed 6,792 all-purpose yards for his career, which is also a record. Jones is now the most prolific running back in Jenks Trojan history passing former Trojan greats Rocky Calmus, Freddie Carolina, Kejuan Jones (his father), Brett White, Josh Fidler, Richie Calmus, Zack Langer, Chris Jones, Chris Adkins, and former Mr. Football, Trey’Vonne Barr’e.

VYPE Magazine Publisher Austin Chadwick said of Jones, “Having played against some great Jenks running backs and having witnessed many of them in person, for KD Jones to shatter their records is something special. Oklahoma State is getting a superior athlete with great genes and a nose for finding the endzone. Everyone at VYPE Magazine is excited to see KD in orange.”

Jones joins former Mr. Football award winners; Trey’Vonne Barr’e-Jenks (2012), Kai Callins-Guthrie (2013), Mason Fine-Locust Grove (2014), Cooper Nunley-Jenks (2015), Shamari Brooks-Union (2016), Joshua Proctor-Owasso (2017), Noah Cortes-Broken Arrow (2018), Brennan Presley-Bixby (2019), Owen Ostroski-Holland Hall (2020), Braylin Presley-Bixby (2021), Xavier Robinson-Carl Albert (2022), Jamarian Ficklin-Muskogee (2023), and Nate Roberts-Washington.

Other finalists for the 2025 Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Award included: Tajh Overton-Owasso, Braeden Presley-Bixby, Mason James-Norman North, Xavier Okwefulueze-Rejoice Christian, Jaden O’Neal-Mustang, Cooper Hackett-Fort Gibson, Semaj Stanford-Broken Arrow, Jae’Lin Battle-Edmond Santa Fe, Colton Yarbrough-Durant, and Titus Hawk-Choctaw.

The Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Oklahoma Award is voted on by members of the media to include print, radio, and television across Oklahoma. Ballots are sent to more than 40 members and voting takes place over a month-long period. Voting ended on December 8th, 2025.
