Cascia Hall’s Memphis Duffie

Cascia Hall junior Memphis Duffie has quietly become one of the most dynamic multi-sport standouts in Tulsa, excelling on the Commandos’ varsity basketball and baseball teams while embracing a leadership style that lets his play do the talking.

On the court, Duffie plays multiple spots but primarily lines up at shooting guard, where his scoring ability has fueled Cascia Hall’s recent surge. He reached 1,000 career points by the midpoint of his junior season in 2025 and is a two-time All-State Tournament selection in 2024 and 2025. This past season, he was named Pinnacle Conference Boys Player of the Year, adding to a growing résumé that has made him one of the league’s most respected guards.

Baseball season brings a different role but the same impact. Duffie is a versatile defender, moving between shortstop, second base, center field and the mound for the Commandos. He has earned Tulsa World All-World Team honors in 2023-24 and 2024-25, along with all-conference recognition for both seasons. As a freshman, he started on varsity and helped Cascia Hall reach the area playoffs in a season few outside the locker room believed they could extend.

Duffie credits the adults and teammates around him for shaping his calm, steady approach. At Carver Middle School, Men of Power advisor Mr. Washington helped the normally reserved Duffie see that he could be “a strong leader without having to draw attention” to himself. His father, a college football coach, models work ethic and balance, “pushes me in a positive way” and still finds time to be at games despite a demanding schedule.

He also points to former senior catcher Hank Witte, who “made me feel like an important part of the team,” and Cascia Hall coaches Tony Ellis and Bryon Mayberry for teaching him perseverance, accountability and to always put the team first. Off the field, Duffie leans on advice from his mother: “Run your own race because we are not meant to follow someone else’s path.”
