BROKEN ARROW LADY TIGERS

Coach: Shane Coffey

23-24 Record: 18-9

OUTLOOK

Expect an exciting year on the court for the Lady Tigers as head coach Shane Coffey returns a plethora of great players who are focused on making the state tournament.

“After a season riddled with injuries, this group has come back hungrier the ever before to contend for a state title. Our team returns nine kids that so significant time due to various injuries last year. As a result, the depth of this team is greater than it has been in years for Broken Arrow,” said coach Coffey.

McKenzie Mathurin (5-10, Sr.) averaged 21.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.3 assists per game. Mathurin is a University of Michigan commit and is ranked No. 37 in the nation. Mathurin can play guard or forward and is a proven leader. Macy Marriccini (5-6, Sr.) is a point guard who averaged 10.1 points with 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 4.4 assists per game last year as a junior. Marriccini is committed to Missouri S&T. Together, they are as tough a duo as you will find in Oklahoma.

Add ReKiah Bowen (5-11, Sr.) at forward and Taryn Jacobs (6-0, Sr.) at forward and you have a lineup that features some of the top talent in Oklahoma. Bowen accounted for 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds while Jacobs went for 5.5 points and 3.2 rebounds a game. Kate Wiginton (5-6, Sr.) is another guard who transferred in from Verdigris. Wiginton averaged 17 points a game and is known for being a sharpshooter and a defensive stopper.

Peyton Dolan (5-9, Sr.) will play a big role this season as well. Look for Dolan to toss in 4.0 points a game with 2-3 rebounds. Dolan has the talent to help the Lady Tigers reach their goals as a team. Also look for Janaya McCrary (5-5, So.), Suriah Matthew (5-9, So.), and Jaeli Atchison (5-9, Jr.).

Led by a strong senior class (McKenzie Mathurin, Macy, Marriccini, Taryn Jacobs, ReKiah Bowen, Peyton Dolan, and Kate Wiginton), the mission is to get back to the State Tournament and contend for a Championship. Broken Arrow also has some young standouts (Jaeli Atchison, Janaya McCrary, and Suriah Matthew) that saw time in key moments last season. They have grown tremendously in the offseason. Look out for the Tigers this upcoming season!!
