It’s Always Cheer Season for Bixby’s Brynlee Eidson – Presented by RainTech Roofing

Gymnastics and tumbling classes started Brynlee Eidson’s journey into cheerleading. As she invested more time and energy into her cheer squad, she discovered the value of friendships. “Friendships and bonds definitely keep me coming back!”

Brynlee is a freshman at Bixby High School. She started cheering for her school in the seventh grade. “My favorite part of getting to represent Bixby as a cheerleader is that I get to support all of the other sports,” she said.

The cheer team at BHS is both spirit and competitive. This gives them a variety of activities to be involved in. “I really enjoyed cheering for football and getting to experience winning the state game on the sidelines,” she says. “Getting to travel for the Bixby competitions with all of my friends is so much fun!”

There are many challenges to cheerleading. The biggest challenge of cheerleading she says is the mental side of it. “I would say this sport is 10% physical and 90% mental.” Brynlee has experienced top-level competition where physical and mental strength took her team all the way. “My favorite memory will have to be my seventh-grade year when Bixby won nationals!”

The teammate who leaves the biggest impression on her is Ella Morgans. “She always knows how to make me laugh in any situation and has never made me feel like I wasn’t good enough.”

Brynlee loves every aspect of cheer and is devoted to her sport. In addition to cheering for her high school squad, she is in her eighth season as an All-Star athlete for SoCo Intensity Cheer & Tumbling. She was only six when she had her first cheer tryout.  “When I’m not at school or school cheer practice, I am usually at All-Star practice!”

The best advice anyone has given Brynlee came from her brother. “Trust the Lord with everything you have and he will guide you through,” he told her.

When given the chance to say thank you to anyone who has helped or impacted her life she chose her parents. “Thank you for always believing in me and always pushing me to achieve my goals. They are my number one supporters and I couldn’t be here without them.”

After high school she plans to go to college to study interior design.
