Q&A with Sand Springs’ Addison Hughes – Presented by Inkwell

VYPE: Addison, what is your favorite softball memory?

Addison Hughes: Beating Southmoore my junior year. They went on to win the State Championship. Another favorite memory was recently beating Broken Arrow. It has been a long time since the Sandites have done that!

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

AH: How to work through challenges, how to work with a team, and how to be compassionate about things you do.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

AH: I love the sisterhood. We love and care for each other and we would do anything for one another. Softball has brought me many great friendships and memories.

VYPE: Which softball player do you look up to and why?

AH: Former OU player Kelsey Arnold because she has always been an encouragement to me as I was growing up playing softball.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

AH: Kelsi Hilton. She always kept the team hyped up, always had us laughing, and she played the game at 110 percent.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school?

AH: I love playing for the hometown I grew up in and playing with girls I grew up with. The atmosphere at our games is just on another level and something I will never take for granted!

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given?

AH: Keep Jesus the center of your life and trust in Him because He has a big plan for your life!

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

AH: My Memaw inspires me because she is so strong in her faith and is always so loving and caring.

VYPE: Who would you like to thank?

AH: My parents for pushing me to be the person I am today on and off the field. They have done so much for me. I cannot thank them enough!
