Sophomore Caden Ketcher is known for being a standout athlete on the track. Ketcher said his favorite memory is winning conference in the 1600-meters as a freshman.
This season in cross country, Ketcher said he’s enjoyed the meets and his teammates.
“So far I would say Sapulpa has been my favorite, but it’s still early in the year,” Ketcher said. “The teammate that keeps everyone laughing is probably Jessen and I don’t think we have a most serious runner.”
Before each run, Ketcher said he finds time to visualize the race. Ketcher finished 15th at Sapulpa with a time of 11:13.57, which was the second fastest time on the team.
“I like to meditate and picture myself winning it really helps me focus in on my meet. The mind is a power place and what you feed it can affect you in a powerful way,” said Ketcher.
In the classroom, Ketcher said his science class with Mr. Shockley is his favorite.
“I Feel like the teachers there are very dedicated to making sure I understand the material,” said Ketcher. Once Ketcher graduates from high school, he hopes to continue his education in college while competing in track or cross country.
