2024-25 Record: 11-16
OUTLOOK
Onward and upward for the Webster Warriors and head coach Glenn Henry. Now entering his third season, coach Henry has a roster that features a lot of experience, some excellent talent and a group of players who are hungry for success.
“Webster has more experience this year. Returning four starters – three seniors and one sophomore. With quality players off the bench and some experience, we look to be very athletic, knowledgeable, and very competitive on the floor this season,” coach Henry said.
Hondo Avington (6-0, Sr.) is back after leading the team in points, assists and minutes played. Last season Avington averaged 12 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Avington is one of the top guards in the area. Terrance Franklin (6-3, Sr.) is a forward who can averaged double digits as well. As a junior, Franklin averaged 10 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and one block per game. The combo of Avington and Franklin will be tough to contain.
Corday Littlejohn (6-1, Sr.) is another senior forward who looks to contribute more this season. As will Ja’Marion “Jay” Powell (6-1, So.) who accounted for 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds as a freshman. Powell will likely guard the opponent’s best backcourt player. Another player to watch is Xavier Bower (6-6, Jr.) who will likely be the go-to post player for the Warriors. Bower brings leadership and discipline to the court.
Other players to watch include Jaylan Royston (5-10, Jr.) at guard, Desmond Reese (5-10, Jr.) at guard, Marcell Grayson (6-0, Jr.) at forward and Kyelan Elliot (6-4, Jr.) at forward.
